A circular flow.
This painting started as a demonstration for a local painting group. I was struck by the stark contrast of the melon wedge against the large black vase. The leaves create a nice circular flow to the composition while the small blue ginger jar adds an accent complimentary color. It's 85% finished. Check back to see the finished painting.

When I first started this painting it didn't have the plums and I had a piece of tangerine peel in the place of the grapes. It's not often that I make major changes to a composition, but in this instance it simply needed more color variety. I will have the finished painting posted on my paintings page by weeks end.
